A Day of Firsts!
Hi everyone !This is Priyatama, otherwise known as Priya, and this is my very first blog post, which utterly amazes me, since, four years ago, I didn’t know how to turn on a computer!
I love the idea that I can communicate with you in a new way, sharing personally about who we are and what we do. But much more importantly….hear about who you are and what you do…..especially what you do to create more loving connection in your world.
To let you into one of today’s firsts…..
Today we had a session with a couple who have been together for 13 years and have two small children. They were pretty desperate about the state of their relationship, particularly in the area of communication and intimacy. They were looking to put the sparkle back…as they described it.
Communication was thrown around the place at one another and intimacy wasn’t happening a great deal. A realisation I had, as we worked with them, is just how important communication is, in that it lays a foundation of safety so that intimacy can get nurtured. How can we get soft and snuggly….let alone sensual and sexy, if we are not feeling safe at the floor level of our connection?
It suddenly became clear to me what Stan Dale , the founder of HAI (Human Awareness Institute), really meant when he said: “Communication is the best lubrication!”
I can see now how there is a flow in all of this….let’s have sharing and checking in time with each other, where we can clear anything in the way of our love for each other. That way, we can open the door and gently invite in physical and loving closeness.
Funny how something can seem right for a long time but the full impact of it’s rightness comes when it’s ready and not before.
